We Believe
Our Vision
With the help of the Holy Spirit,
Community Church Jasper desires to lead people to Jesus Christ
by reaching up through heartfelt worship, reaching in through discipleship and
training, and reaching out in service to others.
Reaching Up:
To honor God with Spirit led worship.
Entering into His presence where we are changed.
Reaching In:
To teach and
train through fellowship. Walking
together, learning from one another through our struggles and victories.
This form of equipping the saints is what Jesus used. Reaching Out: We equip to involve and send out. The problem with the church today is they seek followers rather than leaders to send out. The church is not a pile of bricks (I Peter 2:5), but a wall of bricks mortared together. It is not entertainment but involvement. Not a crowd but an army. Not spectators, but participants.
We
Value:
The
Seeker
- and
desire for everyone to know the Lord. We
value the
hurting, hopeless and helpless and want to see them healed and restored.
Worship
- and
desire for everyone to experience the presence of God.
The
Word and the Holy Spirit
- and let
both guide our daily lives.
One
another
- and
desire to walk together in unity, encouraging, supporting and loving each other.
Ministry
- and
desire to see each individual fulfilled and fruitful.
The
Church
-
the bride
of Christ and partners in the work of the kingdom.
Missions
- God is
at work everywhere throughout our world, and we actively seek opportunities to
be involved.
The
Next Generation
- and
believe the Lord has something special planned for them.
Our
Plan:
A.
Helping people grow and become emotionally and spiritually mature.
To take charge of their lives, pay their debts, read God’s Word, pray,
have a good marriage, support the church, and become committed to God’s ways
in their lives. B.
Helping people to find their spiritual gifts, calling ministry and
God-given passion. (Eph. 4:1 &
I Peter 4:11) We can become the
most effective in our service to others as we flow in our God given spiritual
abilities. C.
Helping disciple new believers through accountability (Gal. 6:2) by being
involved on an individual basis. Our
goal is to involve everyone in a ‘Life Group’ with weekly contacts or
gatherings that reflect at least one of our core values. D.
Lay Ministry. The day-today
ministry is done by the people. We
desire that everyone have a ministry opportunity.
Life Group leaders have a similar responsibility to assistant pastors.
Praying elders pray for the sick. The
healing of marriages and discipleship is done by caring people in the
congregation. (Eph. 4:11-16) E.
Missions is an important part of God’s purpose for His church. We plan to give a tithe (10%) of our offering to missions of
which (10%) is designated benevolence for those in need.
Our goal is to seek God’s direction to become personally involved in
sending mission teams to establish projects where God may lead around the world.
